Marc Cohn – Walking in Memphis

I went to Jimmy’s Brother, a Karaoke Southern style bar last night. We drank beer, hung out with our new friends, and enjoyed some ridiculous karaoke. Which was great, and then it was our turn (there were 4 of us) to sing. We wanted to do Walking in Memphis. I’ve done it karaoke before. In fact, it’s one of the very few I’ve been willing to sing somewhere other than in the shower.

Anyway, not only did they not have the song available, but the guy in charge a) didn’t know who sang it and b) hadn’t even heard of the song before!

Who in their right mind, particularly someone who does anything (whether it’s karaoke or something else) related to music, doesn’t know the answer to both a and b?

Slightly disappointing. We had to settle for Like a Virgin by Madonna. Eh.
