Boyce Avenue – All that We Have Left (ALBUM REVIEW)
Alright, I gotta be honest. I expected to a be a little bit disappointed by this album….
Luckily I wasn’t, but the reason I expected to be is that they did hit it “big” because of their kick-ass covers on YouTube. That’s how I found out about them to begin with. I almost wasn’t ready or willing to be ready for them, with their own songs and lyrics, to blow me away. Which, well, they’ve managed to do.
First thing is first – they start this album out RIGHT with the song Daylight, just a nice and slow guitar build, which quickly turns into a a series of rip-roaring drum hooks, smashing brilliantly to start off what’s to come and tells us what we can expect from the rest of the songs.
My favorite songs off this are More things to Say, Every Breath, Briane, and Hear Me Now. I would highly recommend a listen. The whole cd really comes together nicely – each song leading into the next quite well.
